~Happy Halloween!~ I have slightly under 4,000 words in my dissertation to write. I've been making slight progress with revisions and research. I'm planning on working late. Recent films: Bride and Prejudice. It's a good film - a bit of culture and Bollywood westernized. Recent books: I'm in the middle of Mansfield Park by Austen. About three weeks ago, I finished The Best A Man Can Get by O'Farrell - an interesting and engaging read.
October 2004 Archives
Autumn is here. It's my third week at my new job. What is with the weather? Can it get anymore horrible? I know my site is getting out-dated; I plan on making the updates after the new year.
I've just returned from wet and rainy Wales. On Monday, I went off to mid-Wales. On Tuesday, I went to Aberdovey to the hotel with a beach view. That's where I stayed for three nights. The following day, we were off to Portmeirion, by train on the way up and car on the way down. There were a couple of narror bridges that the train had to go across. On the way back, we stopped off in some little villages in Snowdonia. On Thursday, we went to see some waterfalls and walked around the beach in Aberdovey, all the way out on the sandbanks because the tide was out. It was nice to get away and to finally see Portmeirion. It's too bad the weather wasn't sunny and warm. (A special thanks to Ollie's mum for the hotel and transport.)
