Yayoi Kusama Sculpture at Liverpool Street

Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is known for her polka-dot pattern artwork featuring pumpkins and "infinity rooms", and her work is photogenic and popular. A new sculpture designed by her is now located at Liverpool Street, and this is her first permanent sculpture in the UK and her largest one in the world. The work shows a series of orbs connected together and twisting into different patterns and shapes. Visitors can walk amongst the sculpture.

The sculpture was funded for Crossrail Art Programme for the Elizabeth Line, London's newest tube line which serves Liverpool Street. Due to the new line, Liverpool Street is the busiest station in London and served by rail and multiple lines.

I saw an exhibition by artist Yayoi Kusama a few years ago, and you can see additional photographs of her work here: Yayoi Kusama "The Moment When I Went Into the Universe".
